Bitcoin: *NOT* a 3-Year Bear Market

While some people hear "bear market" and assume we are heading down for the next 3 years - on the contrary, this is strictly not what I said. ‘Significant damage’ to hit this market - why investor is in 35% cash – Ted Oakley

The end of this current bull market cycle will be marked by “significant damage,” said Ted Oakley, founder and partner of Oxbow Advisors, who have currently allocated 35% of their investments into cash. Video by Kitco NEWS.

Oakley told David Lin that one of main factors behind the stock market rally in the last 10 years has been quantitative easing from the Federal Reserve, so any tightening from the central bank will likely trigger a market correction.

“If you look at the last 10 years, it’s all had to do with the Federal Reserve,” Oakley said. “It’s been unfortunate but they took away what should have been these ups and downs in the economy, they should have taken poor companies out of the economy, but the Federal Reserve has taken upon itself, which by the way is unfortunate – it’ll probably be one of the worst things we look back on – but they spent 10 years of keeping the money flow on and in the last two or three, they’ve really done it in a big way.”

While at various phases of the market cycle, it may seem like time is not on our side, we can resort back to all of our charts and identify that it still very much seems like time is on our side. Whether we put in a market cycle top in 2021, 2022, or 2023, it would appear that time remains on our side. To show this, we present our fair value logarithmic regression trendline of the entire cryptocurrency asset class. While we normally present this on the first of the month, I figured it may be good to give an update today. We investigate the over-extension from the fair-value logarithmic regression trendline and identify where we may be in the market cycle. Could we cool off for a little before trending back up? We of course will need to wait and see if Bitcoin can close the coming week above the bull market support band, but so far, we have not had a decisive weekly close below it. $100 silver price target - Keith Neumeyer challenges market surplus data

Silver is a strategic metal, and with mounting industrial demand it’s only a matter of time before previous all-time highs are met, and then a new push to triple digits is on the way, said Keith Neumeyer, CEO of First Majestic Silver. Video by Kitco NEWS.

“Silver is the only commodity that is not reaching its [historic] highs, and it has reached [those highs] on two separate occasions, back in 1980 and 2011. I think we’re going to see that high breached in the cycle, and when it does, it’s going to wake up the market. Once it breaks through the $50 level, I think that it’s going to get up to the $100 level pretty quickly,” Neumeyer told David Lin, anchor for Kitco News.

On the data released by the Silver Institute that reported that 2020 saw the biggest surplus in the silver market on record, Neumeyer challenged the collection methodology.

“I think these numbers are made up,” he said. “I wouldn’t trust them at all.”
