Bitcoin (BTC) is consolidating directly around the $80,000 threshold, trading down slightly by 0.3% to 0.4% over the last 24 hours to sit roughly between $79,600 and $80,100. Despite some short-term downward pressure, the asset remains up over 25% over the past 90 days, reflecting a broader macro-consolidation phase.

• Federal Reserve Meeting Begins: The Fed kicks off its two-day policy meeting today. The CME FedWatch tool indicates a 90% probability that interest rates will remain unchanged, creating a temporary atmosphere of macro caution that has kept risk assets trading sideways.

• Derivatives Volume Surges: Speculative activity is heating up rapidly. Crypto perpetuals trading volume skyrocketed 74.8% over the past 30 days to $722.2 billion. This heavy influx of leverage has pushed funding rates higher, presenting a neutral-to-cautionary indicator of near-term volatility risks or potential liquidation cascades.

• Institutional "Accumulation Phase": Analysts from Galaxy Digital noted that the market's "fast money" has largely exited, leaving behind a highly stable institutional baseline. They highlighted that spot ETFs added 87,000 BTC since early summer lows. Galaxy posits that rising U.S. national debt and persistent fiscal deficits continue to strengthen the long-term thesis for Bitcoin as a fixed-supply asset, advising that current price levels remain a constructive accumulation zone.

• Crypto Ignores Tech Rally: Crypto asset prices decoupled from traditional Asian equities today, largely ignoring a 3.1% rally in South Korea's Kospi. The broader decentralized finance sector also faced pressure, with the DeFi index sliding 1.8%.
