XRP Insights Today
• Ripple Credit Business (2027 Activation): At the XRP Seoul conference yesterday, Ripple President Monica Long announced pilots for a new credit service launching in 2027 that will use XRP as collateral for payment loans. Unlike standard high-speed cross-border settlements where XRP is sold immediately, a lending framework requires institutions to hold tokens long-term, potentially creating sustained upward price pressure.
• DeFi Yield & Working Capital: Doppler Finance (the largest DeFi app on the XRP Ledger) announced a partnership with Flare Network to give holders direct access to FXRP vaults soon. This will allow investors to leverage their XRP as active "working capital" to generate yield without traditional banking systems.
• Nasdaq ETF & Corporate Ties: Institutional infrastructure continues to strengthen. Bitwise's XRP ETF recently cleared a key SEC procedural hurdle, while Evernode (an XRP-backed treasury company) is gearing up to list on the NASDAQ under the ticker XRPN, holding a treasury of roughly 473 million tokens (~$710 million).
• Growth Counter-winds: Long-term projections face some obstacles following the stalling of the Clarity Act in the US Senate, which has dampened institutional onboarding certainty for US banks. Additionally, the rising ubiquity of enterprise stablecoins (like Ripple's own RLUSD) is capturing some of the immediate transactional utility originally envisioned for native XRP.
