Bitcoin (BTC) has tumbled below the critical $80,000 threshold, trading at approximately $79,700. A sudden wave of risk-off sentiment has hit the broader cryptocurrency market, driven by escalating geopolitical tensions in the Middle East and heavy institutional outflows.

• Geopolitical Risk Flight: Reports emerged this morning that the U.S. is rapidly evacuating diplomatic and military personnel across the Middle East due to intelligence suggesting advanced planning for targeted attacks by Iran. This has sparked sudden global macro anxiety, causing risk assets like crypto to slide.

• Massive ETF Outflows: Institutional demand has cooled significantly. U.S. spot Bitcoin ETFs registered a staggering $635.6 million in net outflows on Thursday—the largest single-day exit since June—followed by an additional $137.9 million in outflows on Friday.

• Leveraged Long Liquidations: The sudden dip triggered a violent squeeze in the derivatives market. Over the last 24 hours, the total crypto market saw $466.54 million in liquidations, with Bitcoin accounting for over $90.72 million—nearly 90% of which were leveraged long positions forced to close.
