Bitcoin (BTC) is trading around $80,900 to $82,000, marking an intraday drop of roughly 3%. The digital currency experienced significant volatility, briefly sliding below the psychological $80,000 threshold to a daily low of $80,210 before staging a modest recovery back into its key support zone.

• Spot ETF Outflows: Weakening near-term institutional demand is highly visible in U.S. spot Bitcoin ETFs, which recorded $261.46 million in net outflows on Wednesday alone, contributing heavily to the weekly negative momentum.

• Exchange Withdrawals: Concurrently, substantial BTC withdrawals from exchanges like Binance have been logged. While this implies that large holders are migrating assets to long-term cold custody, it has yet to generate sufficient immediate buying pressure to reverse the daily trend.

• Hotter Inflation Data: Markets are reacting heavily to a hotter-than-expected U.S. Consumer Price Index (CPI) report, which came in at 3.7%. This renewed fears that the Federal Reserve will hold interest rates higher for longer.

• Global Tech Cascades: A steep AI-led technology sell-off on Wall Street—deepened by slowing revenue growth projections at major firms—spilled directly into crypto markets.

• Derivative Liquidations: The sudden dip triggered rapid automated liquidations, wiping out nearly $1 billion in leveraged long positions across the crypto market, with Ethereum (ETH) bearing a heavier brunt of the liquidations than BTC.
